Bodies and Technologies Final Project
- You will be preparing an interactive performance project folder with your group.
- Your performance has to be either outdoors or site-specific.
- You will be designing both the performance and the space.
- You are allowed to use other artist’s interactive environments to design your performance piece.
- As a group its best that you first talk about and decide what kind of a performance you are designing, is there a specific event, what is the relationship of interactivity and the performance? It is really crucial that there is a concept and you create meaning by mixing this kind of interactivity with your performative work.
- Is it a play, dance, acrobatics?
- Is it the re-staging of a work (like Othello) or an original work?
- If it is a re-staging how is it different from the other works that have been performed in the world before?
- Why does it use interactivity and how?
- The format of the folder can be a pdf or a website. If you have an alternative idea, I’m open to hear your thoughts.
- The folder should include:
- A 3D visual of the space (sketch-up) or photographs of the original space (should include credits) and a text on how you are designing it. You need to transform the space, don’t just think about where the performance is taking place but how about the path that the audience walks as they are coming to the performance…
- Conceptual text
- Descriptive text
- A section on the interactive environment/design that you are using (visuals, explanations, credits)
- A section on the performative part
- Technical Rider (Technically what do you need in order for this performance to take place)
- Your grade is divided into 3 parts: Proposal 30%, Research 40% and Originality %30
- It can be anywhere around the world, surprise us, use your originality, really research, imagine that you have all the resources in the world so there are no limits…
